In addition to aquarium keeping, I also enjoy the game of golf. Recently I realized that there are many parallels between these two very different pastimes. So I thought I would devote this Deep Thought to a lesson I recently had with my instructor, Rick Woodson. As an average golfer, I will shoot between 85 and 95 depending on the day. But recently I was plagued by a case of the shanks ("Shanking" is when you hit the ball to the right at an extreme angle and embarrass yourself in front all the other golfers... not fun.) causing my score to increase a bunch.
